Browning X-Bolt Target Max
Browning X-Bolt Target Max has been a dependable and accurate platform for years, but for competition shooting, it’s always been hampered by its lower-capacity rotating magazine—until now. The expanded magazine well, which is compatible with 10-round AICS-pattern magazines, is the most noticeable feature to experienced X-Bolt shooters. That’s not everything.
The Browning X-Bolt Target Max has a heavier, stiffer receiver with a 20-MOA Picatinny rail on top. It boasts a thick stainless bull barrel that measures 0.9 inches at the rear of the muzzle threads and a new Browning target trigger that can be adjusted from 2 to 3.3 pounds.
The barrel is threaded in 5/8-24 and fluted. It includes Browning’s Recoil Hawg muzzle brake, but it is also suppressor ready. The Target Max comes with a heavy-duty composite target stock with a vertical grip, a broad fore-end, and an adjustable comb. The front end contains a Picatinny rail segment for mounting a bipod. The Browning X-Bolt Target Max action includes a short 60-degree throw and a bolt override button that allows the action to be opened when the weapon is in safe mode. It will be available in 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, and.308 Win at first.
