CVA Cascade X-Treme
CVA Cascade X-Treme was evaluated in our 2022 Gun Test, and this year, CVA is extending the range with the Cascade XT (short for extreme). The XT is designed to be a somewhat heavier, precision-minded Cascade rifle, with a few essential upgrades to make that possible.
The stock is comparable to the Cascade SB but comes in Realtree’s new western “Hillside” design. It sports a good rubber recoil cushion and textured grip panels, as well as two front sling swivel studs for attaching a bipod. The barrel of the Cascade XT, on the other hand, is longer and heavier.
It has a No. 5 contour, is fluted, and has a radial muzzle brake. It will also be suppressor ready. The heavier barrel should be more balanced and heat up more slowly than the lighter barrel. Lastly, it has an enlarged bolt knob for rapid and reliable cycling when carrying the rifle. The Cascade XT is an excellent addition to the Cascade series.
Some may only be aware with CVA Cascade X-Treme’s muzzleloader lines, but the business is also becoming a significant influence in the American firearm market on the rifle side. The Cascade bolt-action, released in 2019, is a perfect illustration of CVA’s ongoing commitment on product growth. Our test sample for this examination was a camouflaged 6.5 mm Creedmoor chambered in a total of ten cartridges and available with either a charcoal gray or Veil Wideland camouflage-finished synthetic stock.
