CCI Primers are evaluated and refined throughout time. Because of this, CCI primers available today are more sensitive, simpler to seat, and compatible with progressive and automated loading equipment than ever before.

For the cleanest burn possible, they use contemporary non-corrosive and non-mercuric initiator blends.

I thought this would be of interest to any of you DIYers who can’t seem to get other brands of caps or simply want to make your CCI’s as excellent as any other.

I’m new to BP and had to resort to producing my own caps because none were available. I recently discovered a nice supply of CCI #11 and didn’t want to buy new nipples or use pliers to make them fit better.

With just a strong push, my straightforward push-thru sizer makes CCI #11s fit perfectly. It works wonderfully with a 3 degree tapered hole through a scrap bolt head with a tiny ID polished to.171″.

I can keep one hand on the tiny bench press while the other feeds caps into the die because the punch is held into a block of Delrin plastic that is linked to the press. I spent around five minutes sizing 100 caps.

My main fear was that the priming compound might fracture and fall out of the caps, which didn’t happen to any of them.
