Ruger AR-556 MPR Semi-Auto Rifle
Ruger AR-556 MPR Semi-Auto RifleThe Ruger AR-556 MPR rifle is an autoloading, gas impingement-driven, box magazine-fed weapon. The mechanism rotates a bolt that latches into the barrel while driving the bolt carrier backward using gas released during round discharge. Without the use of any tools, the AR-556 rifle may be disassembled into its constituent parts on the field. In addition to blocking the trigger, the safety, which is situated above the trigger on the left side of the lower receiver, also allows the bolt carrier to cycle while it is in the on or “SAFE” position.
For ease of use in holding the bolt open for loading and inspection, a bolt catch mechanism is offered. As the bolt begins to release, the firing pin is mechanically retracted, and the rifle will only fire when the bolt is secured.
The Ruger AR556 MPR has a free-floating handguard for accuracy, and the thin, 15″ length improves ergonomics. Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment holes on the handguard at the 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00 positions, as well as extra slots on the angled sides at the muzzle, enable for any combination of accessories to be added to the rifle.
A two-stage trigger with a smooth, precise, 4.5 pound trigger pull is available on the Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger. It has a heavy-duty hammer spring with full power for reliable primer ignition and a lightweight hammer with a shorter lock time for better precision. Muzzle movement and perceived recoil are greatly diminished by the Ruger muzzle brake’s radial port design. Standard muzzle accessories may be mounted thanks to the threaded barrel.
